Mikel Arteta has been crowned Premier League Manager of the Year after guiding the Gunners to their first top-flight title in 22 years during the 2025-26 season.

Arteta became only the second Arsenal manager to claim the honour after Arsène Wenger, who previously won it following the club’s invincible 2003-04 campaign.

The 44-year-old had overseen three straight second-place finishes in the Premier League before finally leading his side to glory this season.

From the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign, Arsenal accumulated more Premier League points (332) and spent more days at the summit of the table (562) than any other club.

Throughout their title-winning run, Arsenal recorded 19 clean sheets across 38 league games and allowed only 27 goals, with both figures ranking as the best in the division.

Going forward, they scored 71 goals, with summer arrival Viktor Gyökeres contributing 14, while only Manchester City found the net more often with 77 goals.

They also made Premier League history by becoming the first team to complete an entire season without conceding a penalty or receiving a red card.

The Spaniard is also the first manager to win the Premier League with a club he previously represented as a player, having made 110 appearances for Arsenal.

At 44 years and 54 days old, Arteta is now the third-youngest manager to lift the Premier League title. The two younger managers ahead of him are both former Chelsea boss José Mourinho.

Arteta secured the award ahead of Keith Andrews, Michael Carrick, Pep Guardiola, Andoni Iraola and Regis Le Bris.

There could still be more silverware to come for Arteta this season.

Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final as they chase their first-ever title in Europe’s premier club competition.
