Paris FC reject hosting PSG’s Ligue 1 title celebration at stadium

Paris FC has declined a request from the French Professional Football League (LFP) to stage the Ligue 1 trophy presentation ceremony for Paris Saint-Germain.

The event was expected to hold after the anticipated “Parisian Derby” between both sides next Sunday at the Stade Jean-Bouin.

According to Le Parisien newspaper (Elbotola), the management of Paris FC rejected the LFP’s proposal, insisting they would not permit the title celebration to take place at their home stadium.

The LFP had viewed the Stade Jean-Bouin as one of the possible venues for the trophy presentation.

The decision has complicated the league’s arrangements, as officials had been searching for an appropriate setting to organize the coronation festivities.

The development follows reports that security authorities refused permission for major ceremonies to be held at some suggested venues in the French capital, Paris, according to French media outlets.

PSG required only a draw or victory in their postponed clash against Lens on Wednesday to confirm the league title, which they eventually secured with a 2-0 victory.

Focus will now turn to the UEFA Champions League final, where they are set to face Arsenal on May 30.

Luis Enrique’s team will aim to defend the trophy they claimed after a commanding 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan.
