Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has clinched the Best Middle East Player award at the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, which took place in Dubai on Sunday.
The 40-year-old Al-Nassr attacker topped a fan-voted shortlist that included Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and Salem Al-Dawsari, recognising outstanding performances across leagues in the region.
The announcement was made on Sunday by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano via X.
“Cristiano Ronaldo wins Best Middle East Player Award at Globe Soccer 2025,” he wrote.
This victory marks Ronaldo’s second straight triumph in the category, following his win in 2024, further highlighting his sustained impact in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al-Nassr in 2023.
In an impressive 2025 campaign, Ronaldo netted 40 goals after his February birthday, an exceptional achievement for a player in his fifth decade.
The Globe Soccer Awards, held annually in Dubai since 2010, honour excellence across football, celebrating players, coaches, clubs and agents.
French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, after a remarkable season in which they secured the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup, Ligue 1 and Coupe de France, were crowned Best Men’s Club. Individual honours also went to Luis Enrique (Best Coach), Vitinha (Best Midfielder), Désiré Doué (Emerging Player) and Luis Campos (Best Sporting Director).
