Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has congratulated Arsenal for winning the 2025–2026 Premier League title.
Arsenal were confirmed champions after Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw away at Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night.
The result meant City, who needed all three points to extend the title race to the final day, were unable to close the gap.
Guardiola has now gone two consecutive seasons without winning a league title for the first time in his managerial career.
Reacting after the draw, Guardiola, quoted on Mirror, said: “Congratulations to Mikel, congratulations to Arsenal, they have been phenomenal.
“We were close. On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we congratulate Mikel and all the staff, players and fans on winning the Premier League. They deserve it.”
On speculation about his future at the club, Guardiola added: “I have one more year of my contract. I will talk to the chairman at the end of the season.
“I will not tell you here – I have to talk to my chairman, my players and my staff. I’m the happiest man in the world to be at this extraordinary club.
“I am the happiest man on the planet to be in this club. This club is extraordinary. When we finish the season, we will talk and take a decision.”
