West Ham are close to securing the €30m (£25.5m) signing of 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras.
Hammers’ director of football, Tim Steidten, has been in Brazil working to strengthen new manager Julen Lopetegui’s squad.
Despite earlier concerns that the deal might fall through, sources have confirmed to BBC Sport that the transfer is nearly finalized.
This would mark West Ham’s first signing since David Moyes was replaced by Lopetegui at the end of the season, with Steidten now overseeing the club’s transfer operations.
Guilherme made his debut for Palmeiras at 17 in 2023 and has participated in this season’s Copa Libertadores group stage for the club.
