Music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, often known as Don Jazzy, recently advised fans on how to deal with critics.

He emphasised that when they were struggling, critics didn’t care about them, so he urged them not to let criticism upset them once they achieved their goals.

He claims it is a type of diversion to pay heed to critics.

On his X handle on Saturday, May 18, Don Jazzy wrote:

“Nobody gives a f*ck about you when you are suffering and grinding. If you give a f*ck about what people think about you when you make it, then you didn’t learn shit in the come-up and will be back suffering in no time.”

“Worrying about what people think about you in your grinding phase and your made phase is a distraction.”

Recall that, Don Jazzy recently celebrated MAVIN Records‘ 12th anniversary on social media with an emotional post.

Don Jazzy showcased the accomplishments of the label’s artists on many streaming platforms, highlighting their incredible journey over the last ten years, through a series of film clips that featured both current and former signees.

Established by Don Jazzy himself after to his exit from Mo’Hits Records, MAVIN Records has become a prominent force in the Nigerian music scene, representing more than ten gifted artists from the past and present.

Numerous chart-topping hits, including instant classics like “Dorobucci” and “Amina,” have resulted from the label’s joint efforts. These songs have made a lasting impression on the music industry.

A number of performers who have gone on to forge their own routes to fame have started out on MAVIN Records.

Renowned musicians like Johnny Drille, Ayra Starr, Rema, Ladipoe, Crayon, and Bayanni have all grown under Don Jazzy’s tutelage, exhibiting their skill and diversity.

Under Don Jazzy‘s direction, MAVIN Records perseveres despite the departure of former members like Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks, who have remained influential in the business.

Beyond his role as a record label boss and producer, Don Jazzy has also become a champion for upcoming artists, using his platform on social media to promote and showcase emerging talent.

His accessibility online has created invaluable opportunities for up and coming musicians to gain exposure and recognition.
