The Allied Peoples Movement’s petition was adjourned by the Presidential Election Tribunal Court in Abuja on Tuesday until Thursday, May 11, 2023, so that the pre-hearing may continue.

The party is contesting Bola Tinubu’s declaration as the victor of the February 25 presidential elections on behalf of the ruling All Progressive Congress.

The party is contesting the results of the presidential election in the petition with the file number CA/ABJ/PEPC/04/2022 on the basis of irregularities, including the falsification of election results.

One of the arguments is that Tinubu lacked a legitimate Vice President nominee. As a result, the APC had no legal right to sponsor him.

Listed as 1st to 5th respondents in the petition are INEC, APC, Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima and Kabir Masari.

The party stated that, “The third respondent lost his candidacy and was no longer qualified to contest the presidential election. When the fifth respondent withdrew his nomination as the second respondent’s vice presidential candidate for his said presidential election.”

The court stood down to reconvene in 5 minutes.
