Former Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has hinted at the possibility of reuniting with the Spanish club, while remaining vague about his long-term plans with Al Ittihad.
In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Tuesday, Benzema stated, “If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I could never say no to Pérez.
“I’m a Madridista. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city. We’ll see what happens.”
Regarding his situation in Saudi Arabia, where he is under contract with Al Ittihad until June 2026, the former France striker was careful not to commit to any firm decision about his future.
“I don’t know if I’ll leave Al Ittihad or stay. It depends on many factors… let’s see what happens,” he said.
Benzema, who netted more than 300 goals for Real Madrid and played a central role in several Champions League and La Liga triumphs, continues to be admired by Los Blancos supporters.
Benzema also urged moderation in the criticism directed at Vinícius Júnior, reminding supporters and analysts not to ignore the Brazilian’s significant impact at the club.
“Don’t forget what Vini Jr did for Real Madrid, it’d be not fair at all. He’s a very good kid, with a big heart, who wants to learn, he’s phenomenal”.
“People put a lot of pressure on him. He can do more, but you can’t say he’s bad now, told @diarioas.”
Vinícius, considered one of Real Madrid’s key attacking players in recent years, has been under increased public scrutiny.
Although recent performances have been somewhat inconsistent and discussions around him have intensified, the club’s management maintains trust in his ability to influence games and propel the team forward.
