Foundations of a Global Movement
Founded in 1906, the Apostolic Faith Church has grown from a revival mission in Los Angeles into a worldwide body known for its emphasis on holiness, sanctification, and Spirit-filled living. Over the decades, the church has expanded significantly, with Nigeria emerging as one of its most vibrant mission fields.
Clergy and historians say the church’s doctrinal consistency and structured leadership have been central to its longevity.
Six Superintendents, A Shared Mandate
At the heart of the 120-year milestone is the recognition of six Superintendents whose leadership has guided the church across generations.
Rev. Florence Crawfor
Rev. Ray Crawford
Rev. Loyce Carver
Rev. Dwight Baltzell
Rev. Darell Lee
Rev. Olusola Adesope
The Church is marching on.
Rev. Florence Crawford a pioneering figure, laid a strong administrative and spiritual foundation in the church’s early years.
Rev. Ray Crawford continued the consolidation of the church’s doctrines and organizational structure.
Rev. Loyce Carver: oversuea period of stability and steady expansion.
Rev. Dwight Baltzell: strenghten international outreach and missionary efforts.
Rev. Darrel Lee: advanced global evangelism and modern engagement strategies.
Rev. Olusola Adesope: current Superintendent, is steering the church into a new era of growth, particularly across Africa and other continents.
Rev. Isaac Adigun, District Superintendent for WECA in his word, admonished the church that God is calling us to revival, a deep, personal and collective awakening.
“Brethren, this is a season we must not take lightly. God is calling us to revival, a deep, personal, and collective awakening. We are in a time when we need God to touch His people again, to restore, to renew, and to prepare us for His coming. Truly, the signs around us show that *we must draw closer to God now more than ever before”.
We are believing God for another Pentecost experience in our generation, a fresh outpouring of His Spirit, a revival that will transform lives, families, and the entire church.
Brethren, this is a clarion call, a call to return, to pray, to seek God like never before. If we respond sincerely, the Lord will do a new thing among us. He will restore, revive, and prepare us to be rapture ready.
May we all rise to this moment, both individually and as a church, and pray until heaven responds and the power of God is poured out upon us once again.
May the Lord revive each and every one of us as we answer this call.
A member disclosed that while each leader brought distinct strengths, all remained committed to the church’s founding vision—preserving holiness while expanding its global reach.
Nigeria at the Forefront
In Nigeria, anniversary celebrations were marked by large congregational gatherings, revival services, and thanksgiving programs in major cities. Observers note that the country has become a strategic hub for the church’s activities in Africa, contributing significantly to its membership and missionary workforce.
“The growth we see today is the result of decades of faithful leadership and sacrifice,” a senior minister disclosed.
“The Church is Marching On”
The anniversary theme echoed throughout sermons, music ministrations, and testimonies, reinforcing a message of perseverance and forward movement.
Church leaders stressed that the milestone is not merely a reflection on history but a call to action for the future—focusing on youth engagement, evangelism, and adapting to a rapidly changing world without compromising core doctrines.
As the Apostolic Faith Church steps into its next chapter, the message remains clear: with a solid foundation and a lineage of committed leadership, the Church is marching on.
