#OsunDecides: Senator Fadahunsi accused of directing APC supporters to ‘monitor their ballot’ [VIDEO]

Senator Francis Fadahunsi has come under renewed criticism after a video emerged showing him making remarks to voters and supporters at his polling unit during Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

In the video, Fadahunsi was heard instructing supporters to “monitor their ballot” and reportedly adding, “Whoever does not vote appropriately…” before continuing with further instructions to his followers.

The remarks have sparked criticism from the Imole Campaign Council, which accused the senator of attempting to intimidate voters and influence their decisions at the polling unit.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign council described the remarks as “scandalous, unacceptable and undemocratic” and called on security agencies to take appropriate action.

The latest controversy comes days after Fadahunsi faced criticism over another viral video from a political gathering in Ilesa, where he was accused of directing his supporters to “kill” members of the opposition Accord Party.

The comment generated widespread condemnation and prompted the Osun State Police Command to invite the senator for questioning.

Amnesty International also criticised the remarks and called for accountability, saying it would use the senator as an example in its campaign against inflammatory political statements.

Fadahunsi subsequently clarified that his “kill Accord” comment was not intended as a call for physical violence, explaining that he meant supporters should defeat the party “with votes.”

His latest remarks at the polling unit have therefore renewed attention on his conduct as voting continues across Osun State.
