A Lagos driver who says he sleeps under a bridge every day has opened up about his difficult living conditions, claiming that the politicians who seek the support of people like him during elections often abandon them afterwards.
The man, who said he works as a driver for a wealthy Lagos resident, revealed that he drives a Lexus for his employer despite having no proper home of his own.
“I’m a driver and I sleep under this bridge everyday. I drive a big man in Lagos here, a Lexus,he knows I live under this bridge but he doesn’t care,” he said.
Speaking about the political situation, the man said people living in difficult conditions are often remembered when elections are approaching but receive little attention afterwards.
“Politicians only need us during elections like this, after the election, they abandon us. We’re suffering but I’ll vote Tinubu,” he added.
His comments have sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the contrast between his job as a driver for a wealthy individual and his reported living conditions under a bridge.
The video has also renewed conversations about poverty, housing and the welfare of low-income workers in Lagos.
