Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother following a prolonged illness.
The actress disclosed the loss on Monday in a post on her official Instagram page, where she shared photographs of her late mother and expressed grief over her passing.
In her tribute, Ade wrote, “lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness.
“She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, sisters, and loved ones, who will forever hold her memory close.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen.
“Details of the funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she added.
The announcement has attracted condolence messages from colleagues, friends and fans across the entertainment industry, many of whom have offered prayers and words of comfort to the bereaved actress.
Actor Yemi Solade expressed his sympathy, writing, “Accept sincere condolences from me….May the soul of your mother be accepted by her creator and rest it in eternal peace. Amen. Take heart, ADUNNIADE”
Similarly, actress Sophie Alakija wrote, “So sorry for your loss, mama”.
Other entertainers, including Eso Dike, Damilola Oni, Rotimi Salami and Linda Osifo, also extended their condolences and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased.
