Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has announced plans to return to the London Stadium in 2027 for what will be his third headline concert at the iconic 80,000-capacity venue.
The Afro-fusion star first hinted at the upcoming show in a cryptic Instagram post on Monday, where he showcased a 60-carat natural VVS diamond necklace celebrating his two previous sold-out performances at the stadium.
He later confirmed the announcement on X, writing: “So excited for 2027! London Stadium III and much more announcements for y’all.”
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, remains the only African artiste to headline and sell out the London Stadium, the home ground of Premier League side West Ham United since 2016.
He first achieved the feat in June 2023 during his ‘Love, Damini’ tour before repeating the milestone in June 2024 as part of his ‘I Told Them’ tour. His scheduled return in 2027 will further strengthen his record at the venue.
While the London Stadium has a seating capacity of 60,000 for football matches, it accommodates up to 80,000 fans during concerts.
The announcement comes shortly after Burna Boy’s appearance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
The singer rose to prominence with ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album, L.I.F.E (2013), and has since established himself as one of Africa’s biggest global music stars.
His discography includes ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013), ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall’ (2020), ‘Love, Damini’ (2022), ‘I Told Them’ (2023) and ‘No Sign of Weakness’ (2025).
Burna Boy also holds the record for the highest number of Grammy nominations by a Nigerian artiste, earning 13 nominations and winning the Best Global Music Album award in 2021 for ‘Twice As Tall’.
