Renowned Afrobeat artist David Adeleke, Davido, applauded his fellow artist Rema for his recent musical accomplishment, which secured a spot in the Top 5 on the United States of America (USA) charts.
During a recent interview on UAE’s top music station, The Kris Fade Show, Davido expressed his astonishment at the success of Rema’s track, “Calm Down,” on the U.S. charts.
As a reminder, Rema’s “Calm Down” and its remix featuring Selena Gomez recently achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first Nigerian song to remain on the U.S. Billboard charts for an entire year.
In his remarks about Rema’s achievement, the DMW boss shared that Rema’s accomplishments exceeded his expectations, highlighting the global growth of Afrobeat. He expressed pride in seeing stars like Rema making a significant impact worldwide.
He said, “Years ago, I never thought a Nigerian artiste would have a Top 5 record in America. Rema has had Top 5 records in America for the past eight months, non-shaken,”
