Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade recently talked about her ideal man, highlighting a taste for humour that doesn’t veer into ridiculousness.
Yemi Alade described the traits she values in a man in an interview with VJ Adams.
She listed a number of aspects when asked what physical characteristics she looks for in a man first.
She mentioned how much she liked beards and the importance of a man’s eyes and height in general.
VJ Adams asked: “What are the physical qualities you notice first in a man?”
Yemi Alade replied, “I think beards are good. It would be definitely the eyes, the composure, the height and then eventually what comes out of that mouth. Funny is good but not a clown. There’s a tiny line there.”
She went on to describe the character traits she values, stating her preference for modesty over boastfulness. “I would say someone who is modest. There isn’t too much of braggadociousness but there’s also the let them know vibe. I don’t like people that brag,” Alade concluded.
In a different story, Yemi Alade shared how she avoids getting sucked into the controversies in the entertainment business.
The “Johnny” crooner claimed she doesn’t let other people’s viewpoints affect her.
Speaking at the “Rebel Queen” listening party for her new album in Lagos recently, Alade revealed that she chooses to ignore unfavourable comments.
She said,
“I don’t think about it [negative criticisms] too much. I’m just living my life because it’s only one life I’ve.
“Once I see or hear anything that doesn’t resonate with me I look the other way and I keep it moving. Because everybody is entitled to their opinions.”
