Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, has shared the secret to her success in the music industry.
The talented mother of one acknowledged the sacrifices made by the trailblazing female artists who came before her and expressed gratitude for their contributions to her own achievement.
Simi emphasised the women’s work ethic in breaking down barriers and defying expectations in the male-dominated music industry.
She pointed out that by shattering the status quo, those workaholic women made it possible for other women to thrive in an industry that was predominately male.
During her conversation with African Folder, Simi credited the strong women who influenced her career, stating, “There are women who have worked hard to damn the status quo.”
Acknowledging the influence of her predecessors, Simi emphasized that her success is also due to the groundwork laid by these inspirational women.
“So, I won’t give myself much credit than for because I also benefitted from other women who came before me” she added.
Few weeks ago, singer Tiwa Savage and Simi tease fans with upcoming music collaboration.
The duo is set to collaborate on a new track, marking their first standalone project together.
Previously, the only time they shared a song was when they were both featured on L.A.X’s track.
Taking to social media with her signature wit, Tiwa Savage teased the upcoming release with a playful caption.
She wrote;

The post was accompanied by a stunning photoshoot featuring both artists dressed impeccably.
