A moment involving Nigerian singer Teni has gone viral after she pushed past security operatives to reach the VIP section and serenade Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, during an International Women’s Day celebration in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

In a video circulating online, the singer was performing her 2018 hit song Case when she attempted to move toward the VIP area where the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio were seated.

Security personnel attached to the First Lady initially tried to stop the singer as she approached the VIP section at Uyo Township Stadium during the event.

Despite the attempt to hold her back, Teni eventually made her way into the VIP section, interacted with the dignitaries and encouraged them to sing along before switching to another song.

Speaking later at the event, Governor Eno appreciated the First Lady for attending the celebration and reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to major projects in the state.

He also said women at the gathering expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Akpabio and himself ahead of the 2027 elections.
