Grammy-nominated Nigerian musician Sarah Aderibigbe known professionally as Ayra Starr, has launched Barbie dolls in her image.

On Thursday, 25 July, the 22-year-old Mavin princess revealed the limited-edition, custom-made Barbie dolls on her social media platforms.

They will be accessible in Lagos, the US, the UK, and France, according to Ayra Starr’s announcement. But she omitted to mention a certain publication date. The singer-songwriter wrote:

“I’m so excited to announce the release of the limited edition Ayra Starr Dolls! The dolls are coming to: Lagos, the US, the UK and France.

“Stay tuned for more details on how you can enter and win. I can’t wait for you to see them and share the joy!”

Recall that, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, a top music executive and CEO of Mavin Records, has disclosed that he does not let his artists to release songs or projects on the same day as Wizkid or Asake.

Jazzy stated that releasing songs on the same day as the pair can constitute musical suicide in a podcast conversation with Fisayo Fosudo.

It goes without saying that Asake and Wizkid are two of Nigeria’s most successful musicians in the age of streaming. Don Jazzy stated:

“We [Mavin] are moving from the traditional Friday release date to Wednesdays and Thursdays because there are no more Fridays [without another artistes dropping a song].

“If my artiste is to drop a song or project on a Friday and Wizkid or Asake is also releasing that day, I will move our release date because you don’t want to just die a natural death.”

Mavin Records has stars like Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Johnny Drille, and Lifesize Teddy on its radar.
