Eko Bridge Repairs: LASG announces road diversion plan

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has announced a traffic diversion plan to facilitate emergency repairs on Eko Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works.

In a statement on Friday, the Commissioner for Transport, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the repairs will be conducted in four phases, requiring intermittent full or partial closure of the bridge, depending on the work schedule.

Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes during the repair period. Those traveling to the island from Funsho Williams Avenue can take the service lane at Alaka to connect to Costain and access Eko Bridge.

Alternatively, they can use Costain to reach Eko Bridge and Apongbon for their destinations. Motorists can also link Costain through Apongbon to access Funsho Williams Avenue.

For those heading to Surulere, it is recommended to take Costain to Bweries towards Adebe Village and connect to Eric Moore/Bode Thomas.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will deploy officers to the affected areas and alternative routes to reduce travel delays and inconvenience, Osiyemi added.
