The Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended suspected touts at two separate locations following reports of harassment and intimidation of road users.

The state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, shared the update on Thursday via his official X account. He explained that the incidents involved individuals suspected to be “Omotaku” touts who confronted motorists.

“At Marwa Bus Stop in Lekki, a truck driver whose vehicle had broken down was confronted and threatened by individuals who demanded his phone and money,” Wahab said.

A second incident occurred at Palmgrove along Ikorodu Road, where suspected touts also attempted to harass road users.

“In both instances, operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce swiftly intervened and apprehended the suspects. They will be processed in accordance with the law,” he added.

Wahab assured residents that the state government remains committed to ensuring road safety and eliminating harassment and intimidation across Lagos. “Enforcement operations will continue across identified hotspots to maintain order and security,” he said.
