Nigeria Police Force has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for candidates applying for recruitment as police constables will begin in Kebbi State on March 9, 2026.

The Kebbi State Police Command disclosed that the screening exercise will take place from March 9 to April 18, 2026, at the Police Headquarters located in Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.

In a statement released on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bashir Usman, the command advised applicants to check the recruitment portal to confirm their application status and print their invitation slips before the scheduled screening date.

According to the statement, candidates “are expected to appear at the screening venue on the specific date and time indicated on their invitation slips.”

The police explained that applicants must come along with several documents, including their guarantors’ form, application submission slip, invitation slip, credentials screening form, and physical screening form.

In addition, candidates are required to present the original copies of their National Identity Number printout or the National Identity Management Commission card, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, as well as a certificate of state or local government of origin.

Applicants applying as specialists were also directed to present relevant trade test certificates where necessary.

The police further instructed candidates “to present both original and duplicate copies of their credentials neatly arranged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.

“Applicants are also required to appear for the exercise dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Umar Hadejia, assured applicants that adequate security would be provided and that the screening process would be transparent.

He also advised candidates to remain orderly and disciplined throughout the exercise.

The command warned applicants to be cautious of fraudsters, stressing that the recruitment process does not require any payment.

“Anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities in the name of the recruitment exercise will be arrested and prosecuted,” the statement added.

The police also emphasised that only candidates who have received official invitations would be allowed to participate in the screening at the venue.
