The entrance to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, was barricaded by soldiers on Saturday morning due to ongoing re-run elections in the state.

The INEC building was heavily guarded by armed soldiers, obstructing the entrances, according to a PUNCH correspondent who observed this.

Remember that ahead of today’s rerun poll, INEC started distributing sensitive voting materials in the six Local Government Areas of Plateau state on Thursday.

Election materials were distributed on the grounds of the Central Bank of Nigeria in Jos, the state capital.

Journalists, security guards, observers, and officials of political parties were present when the distribution was made.

In the run-off election for State Constituency 2 in the Yenagoa Local Government Area (LGA) in Bayelsa State, accreditation and voting have also started.
