Chelsea’s squad for the Champions League knockout stages has been reduced to include newcomers and excluded Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Chelsea’s newcomers Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Joao Felix were all named to the Champions League squad. While Aubameyang was left out, he has two goals in the competition after six group games.

On November 6, the 33-year-old Gabonese attacker was last named to coach Graham Potter’s starting XI. Currently, the former Arsenal captain has fallen completely out of favour with the former Brighton manager.

In addition, Benoit Badiashile, who joined Chelsea in January for £35 million, is not included in the club’s Champions League squad.

Noni Madueke of England, a young winger purchased by Chelsea for more than £30.7 million, as well as Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana, were all left out.

They were forced to leave the team because clubs are only allowed to sign three new players for the competition’s semifinal and final matches.

Interestingly, Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, whose proposed loan move to Paris St. Germain fell through, has been named to Potter’s competition squad.

Chelsea paid a British transfer record of 121 million euros to Benfica for Argentine World Cup champion Fernandez.

Mudryk arrived at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth up to £89 million from Shakhtar Donetsk, shortly after the club signed Portugal forward Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea will play the first leg of their last-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, February 15th (20:00 GMT).
