Gary Neville identifies three crucial areas requiring Chelsea’s attention following draw against Arsenal
Manchester United legendary figure, legendary figure, Gary Neville has highlighted three critical areas that Chelsea should focus on addressing after their draw with Arsenal on Saturday.
The two London-based teams played to an exciting 2-2 draw in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
According to reports, Arsenal rallied from a two-goal deficit to secure a valuable point, extending their unbeaten streak to nine matches in the English Premier League (EPL).
The scoring commenced for the hosts when Cole Palmer converted a penalty in the 15th minute, and shortly after the break, Mykhailo Mudryk added a second goal.
However, Chelsea couldn’t maintain their advantage, permitting the visiting team to mount an exciting comeback, with Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard scoring to earn a point.
Neville has identified three essential aspects that he believes Chelsea must focus on following their draw in the London derby.
According to the former defender, the team coached by Mauricio Pochettino should prioritize improvements in the striking and goalkeeping positions and also seek a replacement for the 39-year-old Thiago Silva.
“Chelsea have shown a blueprint of what the future could look like,” Neville said on his podcast.
“They’ve still got a problem up front, they haven’t got a striker, and I still think they’ve got a problem with Thiago Silva’s age.”
“He’s so important for them, but he is 39. And then the goalkeeper… Can he step up to be a good goalkeeper?” he continued.
