Pop star Dua Lipa will not perform at the anticipated heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, despite earlier indications she could feature in the event’s entertainment lineup.
Joshua, 36, and Fury, 37, have reached an agreement for a major all-British bout expected to take place later in 2026, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a key potential host.
According to reports, Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, had suggested including a top musical act as part of the promotion, with Dua Lipa among the names considered.
However, it has now been confirmed that although the award-winning singer was approached, she declined the offer and will not be part of the event.
Dua Lipa, known for global hits such as New Rules, Don’t Start Now, and Levitating, remains one of the biggest names in international pop and a regular performer at major global events.
In recent years, boxing events have increasingly featured high-profile musical performances, combining sport with entertainment. Rapper Eminem once accompanied Terence Crawford to the ring for his fight with Errol Spence Jr, while Liam Gallagher performed ahead of Daniel Dubois’ 2024 clash with Joshua at Wembley. American rapper 50 Cent also appeared during Chris Eubank Jr’s ring walk for his rematch with Conor Benn.
The venue for the Fury vs Joshua fight is yet to be finalised, though Wembley Stadium is currently a leading option, with October being considered as a possible timeframe.
Before any potential meeting with Fury, Joshua is scheduled to face Kristian Prenga in July in Saudi Arabia. Fury, who recently came out of retirement, is also expected to take at least one more fight as negotiations continue.
Promoter Frank Warren has indicated that Joshua’s next performance could determine whether the long-awaited bout proceeds, noting that a defeat could jeopardise the plans.
If confirmed, the Fury vs Joshua fight is expected to rank among the biggest boxing events ever, drawing massive global attention and record-breaking earnings for both fighters.
