Tobi Amusan begins Diamond League title defence in China

Tobi Amusan, the current world record holder in the 100m hurdles, will commence her title defense in the Wanda Diamond League in Xiamen, China on April 20.

The 26-year-old athlete will compete against formidable opponents such as Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, world champion Danielle Williams, and world indoor champion Devynne Charlton in the race.

Having clinched the Wanda Diamond League crown for three consecutive years, Amusan, originally from Ogun State, Nigeria, aims to secure her fourth successive victory.

She made history in 2023 as only the second woman in Diamond League history to claim a hat-trick of 100m hurdles titles.

Amusan set the world record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.12 seconds, achieving this milestone in Oregon, United States of America, in 2021.
