Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has praised her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, saying she wishes she possessed his business acumen.

In a LinkedIn post on Monday, Cuppy revealed that she takes advantage of her father’s visits to London to learn from his business experience and understand how he makes decisions.

“Whenever Mr Femi Otedola comes to London, I MUST pick his brain! Why do I think it’s important to understand how my dad thinks? Tbh, I wish I had his brain. Genius!” she wrote.

She explained that observing her father’s growing investment in First HoldCo Plc had broadened her perspective on business, teaching her that success goes beyond making money to creating value for others.

“Watching him grow his investment in First HoldCo Plc has taught me that business isn’t just about making money, but creating value for others,” she said.

The DJ also highlighted the financial group’s new dividend policy, approved by its board in July 2026, which proposes a minimum payout of 60 per cent of its annual profit after tax to shareholders, subject to regulatory approvals.

Cuppy further expressed admiration for her father’s confidence in the company, revealing that he had invested more than $450 million of his personal funds in its shares.

“What fascinates me even more is his confidence. He’s invested over $450 million of his own money in shares.

“Now that’s putting your money where your mouth is!” she wrote.

She added that her appreciation of her father’s business mindset had deepened with age, describing herself as a lifelong student of his experience.

“The older I get, the more I realise that the REAL wealth is in the way he thinks. I’ll always be his student. Very happy to learn,” she added.
