Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a celebrity boxing challenge involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo, years after it was first suggested by show promoter Paul Okoye.
The development has revived the long-running dispute between Anjorin and Ojo, whose partner initially floated the boxing idea in 2024. In an Instagram post on Sunday, Anjorin confirmed her readiness to enter the ring but introduced fresh conditions. She stated that Paul Okoye must first fight her husband, Chief Lawal, in a 10-round bout before she faces Ojo the next day.
“As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge,” she wrote.
“You and Chief Lawal will fight 10 rounds non-stop in the ring. Then the next day, it will be Iyabo Ojo and me in the ring.”
Anjorin also challenged Ojo and Okoye to publicly provide evidence of their wealth and accomplishments, intensifying the personal accusations that have defined their feud over time.
“You can’t talk about your status or claimed fake riches. The last time I checked, you and Iyabo Ojo are still tenants while Chief Lawal owns estates and mansions. I challenge both of you to show your properties and achievements with proper documentation for verification,” she said.
“Let this serve as a lesson: Never disrespect or look down on anybody. Just because we don’t show off doesn’t mean your 1943 Bentley can buy even a plot of land from our estate.”
The boxing proposal was first introduced by Okoye in 2024, with a ₦10 million prize promised to the winner.
Tensions between the actresses escalated in 2025 after Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against Anjorin. Although the case was later dismissed on procedural grounds, Ojo indicated she may take further legal steps.
Their conflict has lasted for years, marked by social media clashes, legal disputes, and police involvement.
Meanwhile, public interest in celebrity boxing has been growing. Just last Friday, Portable was defeated by Carter Efe in a match held in Lagos, adding momentum to the trend and making Anjorin’s acceptance a notable moment in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
